The hotel is easy to get to from Roma Termini. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quite large for an Italian hotel and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast is not a buffet, but served. My scrambled eggs were very good. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as an excellent place ro stay.
It was a pleasant stay. Very close to the station and bus station. Staff and reception is super friendly and supportive. We went to Rome for the first time and the manager gave all the relevant information and even helped us to get our train tickets. Unfortunately I don’t remember his name but I will remember his face forever. Because I don’t forget kind people. Also the restaurant staff is super friendly and doing a great job. I recommend this place to everyone. You will enjoy a pleasant stay.
Perfect for our trip, the room was clean and attended to. Hotel is very close to Termini Train station making it easy to make use of the Metro. The staff were very friendly and they offered a very good breakfast! Would Recommend this Hotel to Family and Friends visiting Rome!
Hotel Varese is a great hotel!
The Hotel is in a very good spot. Go a little bit south, and you're at Termini, the Main Station. From there, you can take the Blue Metro line to the Colosseum. Go a bit North, then you can take a 492 Bus to almost every landmark this city has!
Our Room was decently sized, and our breakfast was delicious. Everything we needed was in the room. The AC was also very cool, which is great for Summer. In our last day, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, which was great for us, because we had to do a little bit more travelling.
Overall, it's a great hotel, and we had a pleasant stay there.
Customer service upon arrival was good! Denise was so nice and got us an early check-in, which was much appreciated after 12hrs of travel.
Prior to our stay I reached out to see if I could cancel my stay due to the person traveling with me having unexpected back surgery after an injury, I got an immediate response but they were not willing to adjust their cancellation policy due to the unexpected circumstances. (I work in Hospitality Sales Management and I would’ve understood the circumstances and granted a one time courtesy but, I digress.) This made us end our stay 2 days early as the person I’m traveling with couldn’t handle the walking/streets of Italy. Which means we wasted 275€.
Overall the hotel is 2/10. Our specific room was a decent size. Housekeeping never touched the garbages in our room or restocked the water bottles. Seemed like there were renovations unfinished making the bathroom look dingy. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we ended up eating at cafe’s as the provided breakfast wasn’t the best. Rooms had a weird smell. Beds are hard, pillows flat. Walls are paper thin, you heard cars and vespa’s flying down the road at all hours of the night, and when breakfast sets up around 6am all you hear is clinging of plates/glasses (ear plugs provided did not help). It was roughly 70°f the first 2 days of our stay and they had the heat turned on and we were told there’s nothing they could do and we should just open the window. After walking 6+ hrs in 70° weather, coming back to a room with no ac or a fan wasn’t the best. Not the closest hotel to everything, it’s a 30-40 min walk to get to the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum if you don’t want to use public transport.
Very nice boutique hotel, clean and well located near to Termini station. Stayed in triple room, very large, big windows, comfortable bed with good quality sheets. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely stay again!
Incredible warmth and friendliness from the gentleman who checked me in, pretty much the best I've had at a hotel and I've stayed at hundreds due to work travel. Arrive before check in time, no problem, let's see if we can get you a room.
Not sure if the room is ready or not, let me get you a coffee (barista made, free of charge) and I'll go check it physically.
Breakfast, awesome. Room, brilliant for a 3 star. Not short on toiletries in the bathroom, just about everything you could want.
Not sure I'd have chosen the concrete coloured lino for the floor, makes the room look / feel a bit industrial, but I don't think that I as a Brit am in a position to judge Italians on style choices!
We needed a hotel near Termini station to overnight after flying direct to Rome from NZ. Hotel Varese was the perfect answer. A short 6-7 min walk from Termini. The facilities, staff, and professionalism of a 4 star hotel, in a 3 star format. The breakfast, of necessity booked in advance due to limited space, is generous in quantity, of excellent quality, and served at your table - with each diner personally welcomed by a senior manager. At night the facades shines with the lights of the Italian flag - they are proud providers of Italian hospitality..
